Wyclef Jean Meets With Dominican President and Vin Diesel

Santo Domingo.– President Leonel Fernandez on Sunday met with actor Vin Diesel and Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean, who stressed the solidarity and humanitarian work undertaken by the president in favor of the Haitian people, affected by the recent massive earthquake that killed thousands.

Diesel and Jean were received by the Head of State in his office at the National Palace and then answered questions from journalists. Jean, who was part of the Hope for Haiti Now telethon, thanked the Dominican government and all the nations involved in helping his country.

Diesel, a native of New York with Dominican roots, Italian and African-American real name is Mark Sinclair Vincent, is a common figure in the Dominican Republic.Last year he produced and directed the short film “Los Bandoleros”, filmed in a poor neighborhood of Santo Domingo, and recorded scenes of the fourth “Fast and the Furious” in the Dominican capital.
